LOW LIFE presents BRIGHT WHITE, Easter Sunday: Danny Krivit and Tony Smith

Somewhat amazingly, last year was our 15th birthday. We figured we needed to do something special to mark the occasion and, given the fact, this whole rollercoaster had originally started in a house in Harlem, NYC, we felt we needed to do something that reconnected us with its spiritual home. So we gave Danny Krivit a call and rather than doing any old party, Danny suggested we also roped Tony Smith into the adventure to. Tony was the legendary resident at Barefoot Boy and Xenon and he'd never played in the UK before. The deal was on.

Not only did they play back-to-back for nine hours, but they did so conceptually, only playing music released between 1973 and 1978, but it was an evening full of surprises, special ones-offs, cheeky re-edits done specially for the night. It was amazing.

And because that pair were on fire, the Low Life chaps had to be on point too, and they served a killer blend of modern electronic music in the other room (check mixes here >). It ended at 7am with the place still packed. We had to do it again.

Check out the pictures from last year:
